Let’s face it, our dogs are our babies and there is no shame in that. Why not go a little extra and celebrate your dog’s birthday with a doggie birthday cake?
Whether you are planning a big borkday pawty with lots of furry friends or you just want to make something extra special for your dog’s birthday, this easy dog cake recipe will be a hit!
I made this cake for my French Bulldogs birthday and they both loved it! It was so much fun to make something special to celebrate their lives. This recipe is packed with super healthy ingredients for you dog such as pumpkin, apple, whole wheat flour, Greek yogurt and coconut oil .
Easy Peanut butter dog cake recipe

- 1 cup unsweetened applesauce

- 2 eggs
Frosting:
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt

Instructions:
- Mix dry ingredients (flour and baking soda).
- Mix wet ingredients (coconut oil, peanut butter, apple sauce, pumpkin puree and eggs).
- Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
- Pour into 2 8-inch round baking pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool completely before frosting.
- Mix together the frosting ingredients (peanut butter and Greek yogurt).
- Decorate! I used store bought Milkbone dog cookies to decorate our cake but you could also add shredded cheese, dog-safe fruits, shredded carrots or other dog treats.
*If you want to make pupcakes, you could make only half the recipe and bake for 15-20 minutes.
**Always be careful when adding new ingredients to your dog’s diet.
