Dog Cheesecake With Strawberry Coulis Recipe

My Frenchie Muffin is OBSESSED with cheese. In fact, she loves anything that has dairy in it. That’s her favorite thing! Milk, cheese, butter, yogurt, ice cream, you name it, that’s how you steal her heart.
For my birthday in September I made myself an enormous cheesecake. Muffin had never smelled something so amazing in her life. She was literally CRYING so she could taste it. I gave her a little nibble, and oh my gosh! Her eyes became round as saucers, her butt did a cute wiggle and she licked her lips fiercely. It was clearly the best thing she ever tasted !!! 
I decided to make her a doggy cheesecake for her 4th birthday in November. And boy, it was a HIT! Muffin and Teddy could not get enough of their super adorable dog cheesecake. They gave this recipe 5 stars, 2 paws up! Here’s the recipe:

Dog cheesecake with strawberry coulis recipe

INGREDIENTS

For the crust :

  • 1 cup old fashioned rolled oats 
  • 1 tbsp melted coconut oil
  • ½ tsp honey

For the cheesecake:

  • 1 cup low fat cottage cheese
  • ½ plain greek yogurt
  • 1 egg
  • 1-2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp whole wheat flour

For the strawberry coulis:

  • 1 cup defrosted strawberries
  • Fresh berries to decorate ( blueberries, strawberries or raspberries)

INSTRUCTIONS

Crust:

  1. Preheat the oven at 350F.
  2. Grease muffin tin with coconut oil.
  3. Pulse all the crust ingredients together in a food processor. 
  4. Press firmly into the muffin pan.
  5. Bake the crust for 8-12 minutes.

Cheesecake:

  1. Blend the cottage cheese in the food processor until the curds are all smoothed out. 
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients for the cheesecake and pulse until well blended. 
  3. Pour the cheesecake batter into the muffin tin above the crust. 
  4. Bake for 30-35 minutes. 
  5. Let it cool completely on the counter and then put it in the fridge to chill for a couple of hours.

Coulis:

  1. Blend the strawberries in the food processor. 
  2. Add on top of the cheesecake with some fresh berries just before serving.
